SPENDING TIME

Last year,I posted some inspirational stories that brought tears and touched our hearts.I truly love reading anecdotes or inspirational story. They do change our lives and give us moment to think profoundly.
Again, here I am sharing with you a story to live by..which I've got from Phils. Star Daily news paper, quoted from the column of Wilson Lee, a professional columnist. This story was also sent to him from another Phils.Star reader by the name Hans Henry Wong.
"This was what Wilson Lee comments on the story: It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life.We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us,those close to our hearts.

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated,to find his five-year old son waiting for him at the door.
"Daddy, may I ask you a question?" the son asked. "Yeah sure, what is it?" replied the man.
"Daddy, how much do you make an hour?" "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?" the man said angrily.
"I just want to know. Please tell me,how much do you make an hour?" "If you must know,I make 100Php an hour?"
"Oh,"the little boy replied, with his head down."Daddy, may I please borrow 50Php?" The father was furious,"If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed.Think about why you are being so selfish.I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior."
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions only. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After abut an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that 50Php and he really didn't ask money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
"Are you asleep, son?" He asked. " No Daddy,I'm awake," replied the boy. "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier," said the man."It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the 50Php you asked for."
The little boy sat straight up and smiled."Oh,thank you daddy!" Then reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled-up bills. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
"Why do you want more money if you already have some?" the father grumbled. "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied. "Daddy, I have 100Php now.Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow.I would like to have dinner with you." The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son,and begged for forgiveness.

"Do remember to share that 100Php worth of your time with someone you love.If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for today can easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it,we pour ourselves more into work than into our family.
Money is not everything,we can earn yesterday's money back, but we can't earn the time that we lost yesterday.Time is as precious as gold, but no amount of gold on earth can buy back time that has passed.
We are all equal in the sense that God gives us all 24hours per day.How do we wisely spend time or waste it? How do we invest our time? How do we maximize the efficiency of our really most valuable resource?"

If There's Something Strange in Your Neighborhood, Who Ya Gonna Call?

I spent reading different blogs the whole day and updating mine as well. As I was making rounds online,I stumbled into the multiply site of Manilenya...Manilenya is among the bloggists that I admire because of her strong spirit to voice out and write everything that she doesn't like especially politics...
Just as I was enjoying my reading to her multiply blog,my eyes were almost popping out to my surprise when couple of unbelievable pictures describe what kind of environment we have in right now.
Even naive children aren't safe of the dirt and unholistic influence by media,environment,people,etc.....doomsday is drawing nigh...honestly.

This was what Manilenya had said on her blog:
Whose parents will let their children go astray? I can’t think of any one. Even the wicked people I know, they don’t want their children live a terrible life.
But Jesus! Take a look at these photos, how would you imagine a supposed to be an innocent and uncorrupted minds do this kind of things?

Please just buckle your seatbelts as you view the picture below......

TAGUBILIN AT HABILIN

Reading poems is far from my interest...honestly,I don't literally understand the meaning nor the interpretation.Till I took up Education as my major and I had Literary Interpretation as a major subject...
My Literary Interpretation class was so disgusting and wierd to imagine, the least boring subject. However,in the midst of the semester as I am getting on in years slowly the virtue of appreciation started to influence my interest to read Poems as it brings melody and power to speak out my innermost feelings.
From my previous entries,I posted two poems inspired by an American poets and openly copied them...another poem had caught my attention which was written in Tagalog by Ka Pete,a prolific writer.
To my foreign bloggers sorry to disappoint you this time,I don't have an English version of this one but hoping one day the author will translate them in refine English. This poem boast the morale of every Filipinos to fight the oppressors, and let the voice be heard to those low spirits.

TAGUBILIN AT HABILIN
(Slightly revised version)
Ni Jose F. Lacaba

Mabuhay ka, kaibigan!
Mabuhay ka!
Iyan ang una't huli kong
Tagubilin at habilin:

Tagubilin at habilin:

Huwag kang patatalo. Huwag kang susuko.

Tagubilin at habilin:
Mabuhay ka!

DIFFERENT FRIENDS

The beauty of friendship, like the beauty of flowers, is very hard to describe in words. There are friends who share our paths briefly at different points in our lives, while others stay close to us ... year after year.
Some are vibrant and admired for their strength, while others are delicate whispers of color ... whose gentleness always has a special place in our hearts.
We all meet many different kinds of friends along the path of life, each adding color and joy and beauty to our days.
Again, another wonderful poem about friendship which I love to share with you....hope you can relate this piece.

There are friends with a little "f" and friends with a big "F." The first is a large group with sloppy admission standards, the other an elite and time-tested crew.

A little "f" friend: Identifies themselves when they call.

A big "F" Friend: Doesn't have to.

A Little "f" Friend: Opens a conversation with a full news bulletin on their life.

A Big "F" Friend: says: "What's new with you?"

A Little "f" Friend: Thinks the problems you whine about are recent.

A Big "F" Friend: says: "You've been whining about the same thing for 14 years. Get off your duff and do something about it."

A Little "f" Friend: Has never seen you cry.

A Big "F" Friend: Has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A Little "f" Friend: Doesn't know your parent's first names.

A Big "F" Friend: Has your parent's phone numbers in they're address book.

A Little "f" Friend: Knows almost nothing about your family.

A Big "F" Friend: Knows the medical history, dietary habits and marital troubles of everyone on your tree.

A Little "f" Friend: Brings a bottle of wine to your party.

A Big "F" Friend: Comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A Little "f" Friend: Calls you at 10 p.m. just to chat.

A Big "F" Friend: Knows you hate to be called after 9 p.m.

A Little "f" Friend: Wonders about your romantic history.

A Big "F" Friend: Could blackmail you with it!

A Little "f" Friend: When visiting, they act like a guest.

A Big "F" Friend: When visiting, they open your refrigerator, put they're feet on the sofa, talks back to your spouse and reprimands your children.

A Little "f" Friend: Thinks the friendship is over when you argue.

A Big "F" Friend: Knows that a friendship's not a friendship until you've had a fight.

IS IT ANY WONDER?

Updating blogs every now and then needs ample of times, money and ideas in mind just to share something.
I wish everyone who happens to stumble in my blog will be blessed to some of the stories I have had posted.
I like to post this literary form which I think somehow touch everyone's heart..from the site of Penny Parker.
Please internalize and contemplate.........

Is it any wonder
That the world is filled with pain,
When man sets aside its beauty,
For his own material gain?
Is it any wonder
That lovers' hearts grow dim,
When they do not hold in honor,
The love that's found within?

Is it any wonder
That the homeless often fail,
When they're forced out of house and home
To seek another trail?

Is it any wonder
That nature falls to ruin and rubble,
Because we drain it thoughtlessly,
Allowing it to crumble?

Is it any wonder
That children go astray,
Because we did not take the time,
To show them the proper way?

Is it any wonder
That evil's strong and bold,
When we can't see any goodness,
And we let our hearts grow cold?

Is it any wonder
Racism thrives, my friend,
When we cannot see the person,
Just the color of his skin?

Is it any wonder
That friendships die and fade,
When we forget the reasons,
Why they first were made?

Is it any wonder
Our world has been polluted,
When we allow our industries,
To strip it and permute it?

Is it any wonder
There's so much grief and sorrow,
That we don't even seem to care,
What will take place tomorrow?

Is it any wonder
We see no value in our brothers,
And we hold ourselves too far above,
The many needs of others?

Is it any wonder
Our world is like it is,
When all we do is grumble,
And no action do we give?

Is it any wonder
We wait in fear of Judgement Day,
When we do the things we do,
Then forget the way to pray?

OPPORTUNITIES

I found this picture in the internet and below is the explanations of the painter regarding of his piece.

"In our journey through life, we often encounter opportunities and disappointments. In this painting there is a person, who appears defeated after a door closes in front of him. The doors symbolize the different opportunities in life and are arranged in a seemingly never-ending hallway, which represents our life’s journey. The disappointment of his recent loss is such, that it has drained all his energy and is preventing him from noticing the other opportunities available. This painting is intended to help the viewer realize that we are bound to find closed doors in our life, but our perseverance will lead us to find other opportunities."

(source:www.juansepulveda.com)

Usually,we always pray for good opportunities to come in place specially if we dream something what our hearts wants not what the Lord has plans for us.Sometimes, opportunity is already there right in front of us but we refused to accept it because we don't want to and it's not practically the way we desire for it...however,we only realized when we get disappointed when it's no longer open for us.

THE BEST & THE WORST OF SUBDIVISION/HOUSING DEVELOPING

"I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world."

I have been living in Cavite since 1996, so my life has been evolving around Cavite. For thirteen years and a half living in the place..it was filled with happiness and lonesome moment.
I truly like living in Cavite for it is far from the Cosmopolitan or developed suburban, where you can relax freely without the disturbance of backdrop nuisance in the city. Experiencing a peaceful life and hassle-free community is a pleasure of refreshing the ambiance of the green environment. Cavite gives you the feeling of a really refreshing cold climate as you enjoy the view of the green grass and mountains when you stay and look around.
But as the years continue to run, you can see the rice-field farms now are slowly developing into housing/Subdivisions. Anywhere you will look around, houses were constructionally putting up by different developers just to provide houses to those who wish to live in the southern part of the capital.
Building a house can be one of the most satisfying--or aggravating--activities that homebuyers can undertake. However, what surroundings could we boast to our future kids when it was already covered with houses? Before I usually enjoying watching kids running and playing in the vast green farms and fields, which you can literally feel the gentle touch of the wind kissing your cheeks and the innocent melodies of waves of laughter of the kids playing around made you comfortable that this is the kind of simple world I wish to live on forever.
I miss the old Cavite now, all the greens started to vanish which affects the weather. The warm weather as it was before had replenished and no longer trees that brings shed to everyone.
I can still clearly remember the song of the Pinoy folk-rock band that brought environmental consciousness through their song, “Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran (Look At The Environment)", that it's not really bad when a country is progressing if it won't affect our environment. The worst of this Subdivision is the environment was affected instead of preserving it. Gated houses or neighbors and crowded people were conjugated in Cavite as the crime increases.
Urbanists' have found their way to Cavite relocating their selves to a new house built by contractors. Small farmers who own wide farms easily be lured by money from developers without thinking that their farm/land is the only inheritance their children can be inherited. This is the problem of those parents who never think of their children's future nor the disadvantage of selling farms/lots to those vulture investors/developers. On the contrary, the more subdivisions being constructed the smaller the space that causes traffic and mushroom of population.
Of course, garbage, nuisance, crimes, etc..to name a few are among the headaches..
Farms and vast lands that are being developed into housing are also one of the causes of global warming...Children have no longer enough space to run, air to breathe, trees to climb, rivers to swim......I wish our government would do something about it, like blocking those developers to put up houses.

New subdivision/village somewhere in Cavite

A newly constructed school of Lyceum....

A fountain of hope that somehow green will be preserved...

Lonely Journey-According to Eric Chua

Just this morning while I was browsing the net searching for good templates,I just found my way to Maynas Chua blog...the entry was intriguing to me and pushing me to read all the contents with strong agreement.
All of us were into a Lonely-Journey..please do read his writing below....

Lonely Journey
Sometimes when I walk alone, I recall about the past, a not so recent past.
What might have happened if none has happened, is a question that can receive no answers.
What now matters is knowing that the present holds the key to the future, and if I don’t hold hold so tightly,
It will slip away, and slipped away this thing called “time” has had for many a person has let go
Once I have lived in the most beautiful love story no author could have ever wrote,
Then it was broken in a few moments of madness, and I gave everything I could to repair it,
Even if a broken vase is repaired, the cracks can still be seen, yes, this I understand.
But I know what was broken, can never be broken again, because we finally knew it could be broken. Nothing is perfect.
But if it had not happened, and I went back to my home where I came from, I would not have realized important things.
This time with open eyes I saw how everyone around me was struggling, barely making enough to survive, will I be one of them ?
I fear for what might happen if I continued what I was doing, which was the same as them, if I do the same, I will get the same. That is not rocket science and difficult to understand.
And what I chose to do may sound insane to some, I gave up short term gains for long term growth, if they are making barely enough to survive, I was then making nothing to be extinct.
Lonely is the man without love to give up a salary for a chance in business, one that he knew will succeed. But one in which he has to take the role of 10 men with 10 different jobs. How I managed to do it, I did not know. I only thought of 3 things, the future, my family and her.
The start is always difficult they say, and yes it is indeed. Everything was difficult, now it’s easier, much easier. But one thing pains me more than anything else, love. Please don’t disappear into a place where I can never see you again.
I really hope this Lonely Journey would end soon…
And where it leads…
will be a place where we will hold hands again…
I love you and always will.

TOTO-LIVE IN MANILA

Life in the 80's was more easier and fun comparing now.I mean that's how I see it though we are being surrounded by new inventions and technology, yet 80's life is still incomparable.
Every time I heard songs' of the 80's, it immediately brought me back to the formative years where I was on the metamorphosis of being teen-turning up to youth.
Speaking of music, new wave, techno, and neo-progressive rock were among the trend and thrust of music we're listening to, which was the -in before.
One of my fave bands in the 80's were Toto (it can be To-to or Todo). They played songs that suit to my taste and they're coming here to hold a concert at the big dome.I have been anticipating this chance would come but at this rate I'm totally broke.
Here are the songs that made Toto famous:
1.Rosanna
2.Africa
3.I Won't Hold You Back
4.Waiting for Your Love
5.I'll Be Over You

You can log on to their official website at: Toto

Toto is a Grammy Award winning American rock band founded in 1976[1] by some of the most popular and experienced session musicians of the era. The band enjoyed great commercial success in the 1980s, beginning with the band's self-titled debut, released in 1978, which immediately brought the band into the mainstream rock spectrum of the time. Continuing with 1982's critically acclaimed and commercially successful Toto IV, Toto became one of the biggest selling music groups of their era. Although their popularity in the United States diminished in the 1990s and 2000s, they continue to tour to sold out arenas, clubs and theaters internationally. Described by Eddie Van Halen as "collectively the best musicians on the planet" [2], the band is known for their technical prowess in the studio, as well as a musical style that combines elements of pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B, and jazz, making them appeal to a variety of musicians and non-musician listeners.
