THROUGH THE BARRICADES

In this troubled land, desperation keeps us down, it really test your ground. Searching for a good-high-paying-job is really hard to find nowadays in this country.
There were million of jobhunters in this land including myself. Hungry cows will surely go for a greener luxuriant grass to satisfy the hungry abdomen. I thought the moment I finally step out in the big University would be a piece of cake as College graduate. Much to my surprise, the competition is so tough, multitude of starving prey were also in competitive situation.
When I seriously face the world for the 3rd times, unexpected wrong surmise amazed me that my education isn't enough tool to guarantee that a better career which cosiderately a lifetime monetary wise awaits beforehand, contrariwise, its an upsetting conundrum.
Afraid to be idle after graduation, offer from mediocre job was so hard to resist. My happiness had no bounds when I got the job as teacher at a Language Institute with in doubt of the verbal agreement suspiciously.
For a very short of two months working at the Language Institute wasn't a feeling of pleasurable that comes when a need or desire is fulfilled because I was expecting that I could stay a bit longer as I confidently believed since my enjoyment for teaching was sincerely with deep feeling and full spirit inspite of workin' with those insincere claimed SDA Christians or pious to be exact.
My cognition had come to a definite presentiment that its better to work with those non-believers rather to those who profess to be missionaries and SDA Christians, yet, ironically disagreeing what is supposed to be as it is. Christ had said at Matthew 23 verses 3,27 & 33,"FOR THEY DON'T PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH;"WOE TO YOU HYPOCRITES YOU ARE LIKE WHITE WASHED TOMBS WHICH LOOK BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE BUT FULL OF DEAD MEN'S BONES AND EVERYTHING UNCLEAN;"YOU SNAKES! YOU BROOD OF VIPERS." what a blant yet painful statement, isn't it?
Sometimes human nature prone to criticize what is exactly visible to the eyes. I can't pictorially imagine having an immediate unprincipled superior who has a poor leadership and cannot fully express her normal self in refine English but a jibberish constipated English.A 3rd time flunkers ugly coyote, educated in the medical field yet, professionally uncultured busybody. Moreover, a questionably unvarnished to teach.
Handful subordinates whom I called a yesman hyena and nothing but a coward hopeless slavish followers,short-necked individuals or let say Sip-sip in Tagalog serves devil advocates aggravating the circumstances with the desire they won't be evicted.
Without realizing that they were on the abysmal ignorance, clouded the silly rules of this bumptious outsider.Claimant as religious leader but a leech-sucking of the sophisticating intelligentsia of this poor country. This outsider hails from out of nowhere seemingly enjoying of ejecting tenants unfairly.
May God forgive me for bringing this out in the open allowing everybody to read online.
When you allow emotions to voice out freely, word of adjective came out easily as likely to describe these earthly things,DESPICABLE- so to speak.
I just write to explain the bad feelings I have supressed right now and I know that the tone of my writing affects the moods of the readers.Nevertheless,'am I hitting the wall so hard enough for them to collapse? well, its just a statement or act of freeing myself from moral pains.
Honest to goodness,I praised God - He allowed things to happen which I realized somehow that faraway I already made history.
Now, I already crossed the line and dance upon the rain that there is always a way to escape from strife.
If there is something to loose, there's everything to go....the final shout is over...thanks to this internet thing..emotions that can't be spoken out verbally, there is an option to choose but scribbling them down..and this is it.

SUBIC GOES SAFARI

After the Pinatubo eruptions, partly Subic and Olongapo was devastatedly destroyed.
Dick Gordon known to be the Father of Subic-Olongapo bravely led the whole Olongaponians to save the dying hopes that Olongapo would still be progressively recover from the great waterloo inspite of the abandon of the Americans.
20 years had passed (aftermath),Olongapo-Subic normally surviving and back to its usual life though its no longer as lively as it used to be.
Subic specifically was and is still half way on the boom attracting the locals and internationals to regain its great loss.Being a citizen of Olongapo, my only chance to visit the place I once called America is during vacations and holidays.Chances are, I indulge and seize the short moment to wander aimlessly around SUbic, the little America as I called it then.
First week of July was another moment I got, just to see Subic once more..fresh from the hustle bustle of the Metropolitan.I decided to call my friend to come over and accompany me to see the pride of Subic.Unhesitatingly, he flew in right away with gusto and without wasting any second, we drove up as the taxi we rented for 400Php brought us into the midst of the greeney and thick forest in the heart of Subic.
The driving took us awhile as it is practically far from the center of Subic's attraction.I couldnt help but to peep out of the window searching the remains and relics of the Americans during heydays.
Frustratingly, I could no longer found some of the landmarks of the Naval Base but newly constructed infrastructure and other establishments.
The Zoobic Safari is located in the heart of SBMA preserved forest. The entrance wasn't that much expensive but satisfactory if you'll just diligent enough to wait the 5 minutes introduction and briefing before the zoo attendant takes you around.
Various of endangered species in the country can simply be found in Zoobic Safari.
Shamelessly to say, it was my second time to visit a certain zoo which I got my first chance was in Tagaytay zoo.
I'm looking forward of going home to Olongapo again and enjoy my adventure in Subic, hopefully in Ocean Adventure.

IMELDA MARCOS COLLECTION

Even the former First Lady knows how to be "green". She recycles garbage. She isn't extravagant, excessive and frivolous after all, isn't she? Forget about the over 1000 shoes she previously had during Ferdinand Marcos time. Today she owns over 1000 plastic shoes. Kidding...

Last year, Marcos launched “The Imelda Collection” – a jewelry line she described as “both worthless and priceless,” made from glass beads, gold-plated chains and recycled plastic pieces.

Her beauty secret now is seeing beauty in everything, including garbage. She has resorted to wearing plastic accessories she herself made.

She has a set of emerald-colored earrings and brooch made of resin, plastic that is worth 50 pesos (about $1, euro .73). She also has a bracelet for 80 pesos (about $1.70; euro1.25) that glitters like gold but fake. But she likes it!

I would have thought she would have done a shoe line but no Imelda Marcos — wife of the late Filipino dictator Ferdinand Marcos — launched a jewelry line on Saturday which she described as "both worthless and priceless," but would entitle the buyer to a piece of the glamorous former first lady.

Called "The Imelda Collection," it includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, pins, combs and even cuff links made from a combination of glass beads, gemstones and gold-plated chains.

Many of them feature images of butterflies and shoes, trademarks of the 77-year-old widow. During her heyday at the height of power of her late husband, Imelda was called the "iron butterfly" for her ability to get her own way.

Following her husband's ouster in a popular revolution in 1986, she was found to have collected 1,220 pairs of size 8 shoes.

Speaking to a crowd of mostly women at the seaside Philippine Plaza Hotel, she described the collection as "both worthless and priceless."

"Worthless because it comes from worthless materials, but it is priceless because it is the creativity that's coming from the soul of human beings to bring out what is beautiful and what is God in them," she said.

Marcos, known for her shopping sprees abroad while her countrymen wallowed in poverty, said the one-of-a-kind pieces came from her old accessories and clothes, mixed with newly bought stones and other materials.

She said the idea for the collection came from her 23-year-old grandson, Martin "Borgy" Manotoc.

Each piece carries a message from Imelda saying the item is "guaranteed to tarnish, fall apart, maybe even disintegrate. When this happens, just be Imeldific! Be ingenious and find ways to put it together."

Many of the items were recycled from things Marcos picked up on her travels, while others were fashioned from items the government failed to seize after the family's fall from power.

Their prices, however, were not for ordinary Filipinos. A hairpin made of olive jade, fresh water pearls, antique French glass, Austrian crystals and woven glass beads with white gold-plated chain was priced at 5,800 pesos (US$116, €91), about half a month's salary for an office employee.

A necklace made from a vintage brooch, glass beads, cat's eye gem stone, fresh water pearls, orange calcite and ribbons cost 15,600 (US$312, €244).

Liza Ilarde, editor of JetSet, a travel and lifestyle magazine, said the collection was "in tune" with the current trend in accessory design of mixing semiprecious stones with found objects.

"Personally, some of the pieces are not to my taste although, I'm sure if I look hard enough, I can find something that I'll like," she said.

What can you say Filipino people...are you still mad or happy about her?....I think lets forget the past....why not remembering the good things she had done to us?
