I am just enjoying my stay in the island though at times I felt bored having no work and income, yet, the laid-back life in the island & its simplicity makes me feel so at home.
All you'll find on this blog are some of my own diary entries and photos taken at various points in my life, as well as life pictures, a summary of my life, and information about my perspective and the environment. I learned skills and participated in exchanges that helped me become a more balanced person. I do not spell or grammar check.

Philippines - Home at Last
Haven't updated my blog so far, been temporarily disconnected for a while. I just got back from a 16 hours flight heading home from Poland. It was an awkward feeling at first after being away for 17 long years to a place I called home as well. Everything was a bit strange & new as I didn't recognize some of the people around at all.
Being home, at last, is a relief from homesickness after being away from my parents for a long time. There was a bit of adjustment I made, yet, being with them is like a safe refuge, however, seeing them growing old worries me a lot. I felt like a stranger or a local tourist in my own place, people never stopped staring at me such as I am wrongly thought of as a foreigner.
As a newbie backpacker & a traveler, I couldn't help but wander around and check what else the island has to offer and one of the talk resorts on the island (Kawayan Beach Resort) isn't far from my whereabouts, the proof is just right down here.

Meeting a Friend of a Friend - Couch Surfing
Who would have thought (that) a fellow Couch Surfer & a friend that I just met in Malaysia, would find her way to see me in Warsaw - Poland. Didn't expect that she could be that serious to see me again.
Our first meeting was in Kuala Lumpur during a Couch Surfing gathering. She shared her adventures and the way of travelling by cargo ship & I did mine too. It wasn't hard for me to adjust as we were trying to acquaint ourselves just as we have the same common interest apart from travelling but embracing vegetarianism.
She knows a bit of my country because she met a lot of Filipinos on her trip working in a cargo ship. The funny thing is, she could awfully sing popular folk song in my country.
Another local CS joined in, which a list of Polish friends have improving this time and we had a great time together. Hoping to see her again with her husband one day somewhere else.

Gniezno - The Seat of the Second Polish Diocese
I made a side trip to Gniezno upon knowing that this little city situated in the north-east part of the region was also the first birthplace of Poland with Poznan. The city is just a distance away from Poznan that could be reached by train or bus within 30 minutes.
As my vacation trip in Poznan was about to come to an end, I decided rightly to see this historical little place without any much plan but to enjoy the off beaten path of Poland. It happened that it was also an Independence Day in Poland which made a perfect timing of my visit.
As all main tourist attractions are situated in the center, it wasn't hard for me to check around. Being as the only colored tourist in Gniezno, I became the center of their curious prying eyes - well that didn't bother me at all as I have gotten used to it.
To be exact, I enjoyed my trip in Gniezno. I could see the simple life of the city that is not influenced much of the secularism of the world. The city reminds me of Kazimierz Dolny , so simple - quite and clean.
