Meeting a Friend of a Friend - Couch Surfing
Who would have thought (that) a fellow Couch Surfer & a friend that I just met in Malaysia, would find her way to see me in Warsaw - Poland. Didn't expect that she could be that serious to see me again.
Our first meeting was in Kuala Lumpur during a Couch Surfing gathering. She shared her adventures and the way of travelling by cargo ship & I did mine too. It wasn't hard for me to adjust as we were trying to acquaint ourselves just as we have the same common interest apart from travelling but embracing vegetarianism.
She knows a bit of my country because she met a lot of Filipinos on her trip working in a cargo ship. The funny thing is, she could awfully sing popular folk song in my country.
Another local CS joined in, which a list of Polish friends have improving this time and we had a great time together. Hoping to see her again with her husband one day somewhere else.

Gniezno - The Seat of the Second Polish Diocese
I made a side trip to Gniezno upon knowing that this little city situated in the north-east part of the region was also the first birthplace of Poland with Poznan. The city is just a distance away from Poznan that could be reached by train or bus within 30 minutes.
As my vacation trip in Poznan was about to come to an end, I decided rightly to see this historical little place without any much plan but to enjoy the off beaten path of Poland. It happened that it was also an Independence Day in Poland which made a perfect timing of my visit.
As all main tourist attractions are situated in the center, it wasn't hard for me to check around. Being as the only colored tourist in Gniezno, I became the center of their curious prying eyes - well that didn't bother me at all as I have gotten used to it.
To be exact, I enjoyed my trip in Gniezno. I could see the simple life of the city that is not influenced much of the secularism of the world. The city reminds me of Kazimierz Dolny , so simple - quite and clean.

Photo Diary: Poznan - The Birthplace of Polish Nation
Poznan is a large city of the Greater Poland and known to be the birthplace of the Polish Nation. First week of May, was a long weekend in Poland so as it is a special week for them, not to mention that Poland declared its Independence on the first week of May.
With that, I got the chance of hitting back the road again...good heaven the weather was good and cooperative, enough for me to roam around the city.
