Living in the Province - Siquijor

Residing in the countryside can provide a more laid-back and budget-friendly way of life compared to urban living, featuring benefits such as a tight-knit community, easier access to nature, and a more leisurely rhythm of life.

Generally, the cost of living in rural areas is lower than in cities, covering aspects like housing, transport, and everyday expenses. Towns in the province often foster a stronger community spirit, where residents are familiar with one another and more inclined to lend a helping hand. The slower pace of life in these areas allows for greater reflection and the opportunity to truly enjoy life's little moments.

Countryside Living

As the sun tries to stow away not far away, I couldn't help but admire and respect nature's magnificence. This prompted me to recall my more youthful years. Life's simplicity and freedom are freely provided.
This is why I enjoy living in the province. The simplicity of one's lifestyle. Consider the outside air. You can eat without breaking the bank. Vegetables can be grown on your own lawn, whereas in the city, everything is expensive. When it comes to my homesteading to-do list, I'm extremely vocal. To have a simple house to live in, even if it is on a small plot of land in the province so that I can grow vegetables and organic products on my lawn.
My friends and I would spend the entire day running and playing Filipino traditional games back when PCs and cell phones were not invented yet, and when kids actually liked to get dirty and sweaty.
Growing up in this area of life has kept me interested. I enjoy the sensation of getting lost in the plants as I walk from our house to school each day. I love how we have the opportunity and energy to pause and talk with one another. I adore how everyone knows everyone else.
Furthermore, the beaches and mountains can be reached in a matter of minutes!
Where your heart should be is debatable. Regardless, mine has a home where my house is. I long for the days of my childhood!

Pictures of Home: Siquijor

I had been living independently away from my parents since 1996, till they were finally gone. Was it always easy? Definitely nope. Because of my passion for chasing my dreams of taking out my family from poverty, the thought of moving out solo in search of a better life would be okay.
Well, it isn't! Moving to a new place especially overseas means not having a group of friends anymore, though you'll meet a new set of friends along the way, yet, the ones that you have had grown with are irreplaceable.
With the help of these new inventions, we could still find ways to communicate easily and quickly, but it's not the same when it's in a face-to-face setting.
Been living abroad since later in 2009 and the feeling of homesickness is always there. Being achy to go home is a passionate reaction when you are isolated from things that are natural to you. People have encountered pining to go home however long we have been near. It is made by the connection of things we love and that causes us to feel good.
