Ferdinand Marcos Sr. Favorite Scents

Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the ex-president of the Philippines, liked to use Agua de Colonia, made by the brand Maja. This perfume is well-known for its fresh, citrusy smell and is considered a classic cologne.   It was often linked to his public image and fashion sense, showing his fondness for timeless and elegant scents.

Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was said to have a simple way of grooming himself, and it was said that he didn't use traditional perfume.   Although there are reports of him using light scents like Agua de Colonia, he wasn't known for a specific signature fragrance like his wife, Imelda Marcos.

It appears that he liked to keep his grooming routine straightforward and may not have been as into perfumes as Imelda, who was known for her luxurious lifestyle.   While he may have used light scents occasionally, he wasn't someone who wore perfume regularly.
Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was known to wear **Maja Lavender** as his nighttime fragrance.   Lavender is often used for its calming effects and is a popular choice for bedtime.   This scent reflects his preference for simple grooming routines and classic scents that help with relaxation.
Ferdinand Marcos Sr. used **Maja Lavender cologne**.   Maja Lavender is a light and refreshing fragrance that is known for promoting relaxation, especially in the Philippines. It is usually found in cologne form, which is lighter and less strong than perfume, making it suitable for daily use and as a soothing scent before sleep.

HISTORICALLY BLACK

Was disconnected online for a quite sometimes.....hmmm..life's seems to be so hard this time, honestly.
I'm always in the eavesdrop about the election in USA....listening who's gonna win.At last the moment had just come and the winner was announced,Barack Obama as the 44th US President.
It was the first time African-American to seat in the White House leading the most powerful country in the world. My eyes was watered by tears as I watched him in the news speaking of his victory in front of his supporters.
I have been reading stories about segregation or racial discrimination since then, especially about the black slavery in the US.The story that truly touched my heart was the story of Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat to make room for the white passenger. She was imprisoned for not obeying the bus driver order and segregation law of the Montgomery City code.
Well, that's history and another history made by an inspired man who's giving hopes to those minorities in America. If I were to chose..I'd rather cast my vote to Obama.
I think it's time for America to give chance to the black to lead out USA..it has been always the white on the White House seat since Christopher Colombus.
The world is also celebrating the victory of Obama so as the Philippines.I also admire McCain for accepting his loss in the election and even begging his supporters to support Obama as the next President.
I just wish that Filipinos would learn something from the election in US not just on killing, cheating, demonstration against the opponents, etc.Well, the black Americans and the rest of the minorities in USA are rejoicing and equally be accepted as one.
My prayer and hope that one day Obama would fulfill his promise for the sake of the Americans and the minorities.

BEIJING OLYMPIC FASHION PARADE

Despite of the rallies and group of lefties gathering around Beijing shouting against the Summer Olympics...still the show must go on.
The parade was filled with different luminous colors wore by athletes from different countries.Just like the usual and traditional formal attire, this time the transformation of athletes costume had turned out to be fashionable and colorful..down to surfing board, from leather shoes to sandals.

The Spanish women's bright yellow jackets matched their enthusiam.

The Spanish men stood out in glowing red suits and matching shoes.

The Germans were also decked out in grey and white. The water polo accessories were unofficial.

Team Great Britain arguably had the best uniforms of the night: simple navy suits with white jackets and matching belts

Team USA looked dapper in their navy Ralph Lauren sportcoats and white berets.

The Swiss channeled a skateboarder look.

The Georgian delegation kept cool in all white.

Team Netherlands' orange ties popped against their grey suits.

Philippines' Olympic team follow their national flag-bearer Manny Pacquiao during the opening ceremony...of course the simplest and smallest team...our very own.

PHILIPPINES GREAT CONTROVERSY

As I was browsing the net reading blogs, especially the entry of David...I came across in his comment about the recent issues done by two irrisponsible and insensitive individuals....here's what David had said.
Teri Hatcher, Malu Fernandez, and The Daily Show What do they all have in common? All have managed to anger the Filipino community.
Teri Hatcher, an American actress, insulted Philippine medical schools and professionals in a controversial clip from the premiere of ABC’s "Desperate Housewives." Susan Mayer, (played by Teri Hatcher) was consulting a gynecologist and refuses to be examined. She replied: “Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Coz I would just like to make sure they are not from some med school in the Philippines.” The Philippine government is now seeking an apology from the American television network ABC and the producers of the hit US television series “Desperate Housewives.” The issue with Malu Fernandez, a Manila Standard Today columnist and contributor to People Asia Magazine, occurred a couple of months back and involved her making degrading and offensive comments towards Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Filipinos in general in her infamous People Asia article. Amongst the animosity and death threats from upset Filipinos, it did not take long before she resigned. And most recently, the American satirical television program “The Daily Show” made a bad and tasteless joke towards Filipinos in their skit “Is America Ready for a Woman President?" They had former Philippine President Corazon Aquino labeled as a slut. Officials and citizens called for a public apology for the insulting portrayal. What is the lesson? Perhaps mothers no longer teach this to their children, but the lesson is simple. “If you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.” David is right....if you have nothing to say then,,you better shut your mouth...or hire the Black Eyed Peas to sing their song " Shut Up". Not only that,a site owned by a Filipino Bisaya OFW, commented:To think that the paper itself is titled the Manila Standard Today, begs the question as to what kind of standards they are upholding. Indeed with such an article that was written by Malu Fernandez, The Manila Standard Today should have stepped up to the plate and fired Malu Fernandez. People Asia Magazine should never have ran that article as well. In what will turn out to be yet another defining moment in this blogger’s short-lived career, I will again take another stand. This time, I hope that many of our readers will take this to task and spread the word. Just like the spreading of Malu Fernandez’s hateful article has occurred, let us spread one voice to combat such bigotry and intolerance in our nation. I am proposing, effective immediately, the forced resignation of Malu Fernandez, a worthy apology from her, as well The Manila Standard Today and People Asia, and until this occurs, we should all move for a boycott on The Manila Standard Today as well as People Asia Magazine. (Note: this specific post is going to act as a temporary signature campaign, all those who wish to take part, leave a simple comment, with your name and email, and consider yourself as having made a stand.) Email your friends, leave a comment in this section, tell family members, write a blog post, and spread the word, that this boycott is to be nationwide, and that no one should buy The Manila Standard Today until they fire Malu Fernandez and make a proper statement of apology. Just as Senator Ninoy Aquino died in order for our country to prosper against such intolerance and oppression, we too should not let our guard down even to a wannabe writer such as Malu Fernandez. IMELDA MARCOS COLLECTION

Even the former First Lady knows how to be "green". She recycles garbage. She isn't extravagant, excessive and frivolous after all, isn't she? Forget about the over 1000 shoes she previously had during Ferdinand Marcos time. Today she owns over 1000 plastic shoes. Kidding...

Last year, Marcos launched “The Imelda Collection” – a jewelry line she described as “both worthless and priceless,” made from glass beads, gold-plated chains and recycled plastic pieces.

Her beauty secret now is seeing beauty in everything, including garbage. She has resorted to wearing plastic accessories she herself made.

She has a set of emerald-colored earrings and brooch made of resin, plastic that is worth 50 pesos (about $1, euro .73). She also has a bracelet for 80 pesos (about $1.70; euro1.25) that glitters like gold but fake. But she likes it!

I would have thought she would have done a shoe line but no Imelda Marcos — wife of the late Filipino dictator Ferdinand Marcos — launched a jewelry line on Saturday which she described as "both worthless and priceless," but would entitle the buyer to a piece of the glamorous former first lady.

Called "The Imelda Collection," it includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, pins, combs and even cuff links made from a combination of glass beads, gemstones and gold-plated chains.

Many of them feature images of butterflies and shoes, trademarks of the 77-year-old widow. During her heyday at the height of power of her late husband, Imelda was called the "iron butterfly" for her ability to get her own way.

Following her husband's ouster in a popular revolution in 1986, she was found to have collected 1,220 pairs of size 8 shoes.

Speaking to a crowd of mostly women at the seaside Philippine Plaza Hotel, she described the collection as "both worthless and priceless."

"Worthless because it comes from worthless materials, but it is priceless because it is the creativity that's coming from the soul of human beings to bring out what is beautiful and what is God in them," she said.

Marcos, known for her shopping sprees abroad while her countrymen wallowed in poverty, said the one-of-a-kind pieces came from her old accessories and clothes, mixed with newly bought stones and other materials.

She said the idea for the collection came from her 23-year-old grandson, Martin "Borgy" Manotoc.

Each piece carries a message from Imelda saying the item is "guaranteed to tarnish, fall apart, maybe even disintegrate. When this happens, just be Imeldific! Be ingenious and find ways to put it together."

Many of the items were recycled from things Marcos picked up on her travels, while others were fashioned from items the government failed to seize after the family's fall from power.

Their prices, however, were not for ordinary Filipinos. A hairpin made of olive jade, fresh water pearls, antique French glass, Austrian crystals and woven glass beads with white gold-plated chain was priced at 5,800 pesos (US$116, €91), about half a month's salary for an office employee.

A necklace made from a vintage brooch, glass beads, cat's eye gem stone, fresh water pearls, orange calcite and ribbons cost 15,600 (US$312, €244).

Liza Ilarde, editor of JetSet, a travel and lifestyle magazine, said the collection was "in tune" with the current trend in accessory design of mixing semiprecious stones with found objects.

"Personally, some of the pieces are not to my taste although, I'm sure if I look hard enough, I can find something that I'll like," she said.

What can you say Filipino people...are you still mad or happy about her?....I think lets forget the past....why not remembering the good things she had done to us?
