LANTAU ISLAND - HONGKONG

On our 4th days in Hongkong, I walked alone again without somebody tagging along with me,,I think being alone on the travel is better than in a big group. I love being with my Thai groups but it seems that its more adventurous if you will go roaming around the island without any hassles to the group.
So, searching for a tourist destination in Hongkong, I checked on my tourist map and saw the easisest direction going to Lantau island- where the giant buddha in the world located.
I find my way there in other words, which it took me a few minutes to reach the place coz its another island aside Hongkong central and Kowloon.
The most exciting part that I experienced of my travelling was riding myself in the Sky cable-car.
You see, I have fear of heights and I really hate long and tall area..that scares me to death and weakens my knees.
But since I went to Hongkong for a trip and it only happens once in a blue moon( Hope not) I strongly and bravely challenged myself. Well, I went on a cable car with a couple of fellow foreigners which I travelled alone there.
Although, going to the giant buddha is free and they provided shuttle bus to foreigners..but still I chose the challenging one..and you see it was scary when you are up high and you look down, everything look likes an ant or a speck.
I reached at Lantau island, the place was almost enveloped with fogs but that didn't stop me of touring the area.
Won't talk more..so let the pictures speak for itselves...

Call me a corny-one or what...but I just love posting and sharing my Hongkong pics here...anyway, this is my territory and I can do whatever I wanted to do.
So much for that, I can't easily erase the memories I had in Hongkong. It is honestly an answered prayer.
God has been so good to me....and didn't expect that aside Thailand and Laos, Hongkong was in God's blueprint. Imagine, I went way too far beyond of my expectations.
How wonderful the surprises God was .....anyway, posting of pics on the way.

SPRING TRIP IN HONGKONG

Before I came to do the advance-dreaming of a Hongkong trip, my head-teacher initiated a plan of travelling abroad since our summer vacation here in Thailand is approaching. When she mentioned that she got a promo-ticket price online Bangkok-Hongkong on a round trip, my excitement flared up of the low price. To my surprised, she approached me if I'd love to come along with her on a trip to HK...of course, I didn't hesitate to give my answer. However, frustration got on me if my salary for the month of March would be enough for the trip in HK knowing how expensive HK is, plus I need to send some of it to my parents in the Philippines so as a budget for the months of April - May and for my tithes and offering...how could you divide and budget your money for those I mentioned? Nevertheless, I went there with the group, composed of 2 Pinoys(including myself), my co-Pinoy teacher, and the rest were Thais. My adrenaline went up(maybe the excitement) which I thought of staying in the airport ahead of time..5 hours before the exact time of our flight (funny, wasnt it). Boarding on a plane for the second time was a bit comforting slapping myself to believe that I'm really travelling headed for Hongkong. Imagine, Hongkong just a small country but you see how famous this country is to every travellers...I think the most visited country in Asia particularly. So, when the plane landed on the airport, I saw tall buildings out of the window, as in tall buildings that I haven't seen in my country even in Thailand..that's where I was completely pursuaded that HK was on my hand. Well, I have nothing to say....really. running out of words to express my happiness but just a never ending praises to the Lord for allowing me to visit some other places aside Philippines, Thailand and Laos. Please do feast your eyes of the pictures that's being posted in here.

EXPERIENCING HONGKONG

Sorry for not keeping my promise... I lied 'coz I was on a six days trip in Hongkong, eventually it was only 5 days to be exact. The trip wasn't enough and unsatisfying, because it's too short to imagine and yet there's so many places to visit and more things to discover about. My happiness has been completed when God gave unexpected blessings which was a short trip in Hongkong and a side-trip to Macau. Honestly, I'm still savoring my trip in Hongkong...I dunno why I have this feeling that it drawn to me easily. During my trip there, my group and I decided to stay in a hostel for a cheaper budget instead of staying in a costly hotel..it wasn't that expensive which was enough for a backpacking place stay on..the room was so simple and it's located in the heart of Nathan Road-Kowloon. We were just eating separately and spent our money for food wherever we wish to eat. The hostel we had stayed was located at Nathan Road, who happens to be the center and famous road in Kowloon..you can see it in front of a big mall and easy to locate since there are a lot of Indians grouping outside of the building. The building was a mixed of a department store, apartment of sort....in the entrance way to the hostels were filled with techie stored owned by Indians and Africans...its kindda of annoying 'coz they'll approached you and blocking on the way..its honestly congested but safe. On our way to HK, we thought it's summer too just as the same weather in Thailand, but to our surprised people wearing winter jackets as it was still spring in Hongkong..well, love the weather there. To make it short, I love Hongkong, the energy and busyness of the people..I think I'd survive there. Anyway, here are the photos serves as a proof. Just indulge your eyes of the nice views that you'll see of the pixies.

URGENT UPDATE

Its the 4th day of the month of April. I'm now in Bangkok city, enjoying the noise, pollution, traffic and the cramming city life.
My boring summer days in the place I'm staying is over because I let myself to be deafened by the noise pollutions of the city.
God has been so good, despite of the shortcomings I've done everyday, yet, He continues to send the sun to keep me on the light..seeing the great hope He'd promised.
A blessing month of April because I was in the church for the second time and by this 9th of April- an unbelievable trip will be in Hongkong.
Isn't that an enormous blessings?
While staying in Bangkok, I went to a fave mall of mine in Bangkok- MBK.just almost everything in there are cheap , just within your reach.
Checking in a comfy and not so costly hotel is a good treat for myself....still have to save enough for my budget this April and for the month of May.
What else can I say? never experienced this thing in Philippines...I would say I am fortunate enough to accept this call of teaching here in Thailand.
Hoping for another trip around the neighboring countries of Thailand soon.

THAI-SUMMER VACATION

Today is the 3rd Sabbath in the month of March. A day which God has anointed to man to be His holy day...I mean, referring to the day Saturday.
A day, that family members should worship together in one accord with the Lord. A time of fully praising and nothing but lifting God's holy and mighty name.
As a young Christian and a trained missionary, the first thing to do-lists would be finding a church that I could possibly worship with fellow Christians, yet, the problem is, I couldn't found any of my church around the place where I am teaching neither in the places nearby but in the capital city Bangkok which is 3 hours by van and 5 hours by bus.
Back in the Philippines, attending to church every midweek, vesper and Sabbath was the only simple-joys I had as I may call it. I felt like a weak-lame individual who couldn't walk normally when I misses any of those church services.
But coming to this Siam country is different, I thought it would be normally as it was to attend worships just as the usual thing I did in the Philippines.
Contrary, I just attended one wholly Sabbath day since from my arrivals and that was the month of February, that needs a long travel before I could make a christian union with fellow believers.
The rest of that were spending most of the time in the internet cafe listening and viewing christian videos or either going out for a nature walk with some newfound Christian friends(led by a protestant British missionary.
Reading my Bible is no longer as actively as it was, nor praying before going to sleep. I don't think that I am spiritually gone astray but its just that things had changed and completely new to me.
Well, I thank God that I still managed to set aside the 10% of my salary for the tithe, 'am now training myself to be a tithe giver.Just giving back to the Lord what's His...if not, I am robbing Him..heaven's forbid...don't want to be branded with a name tithe-robber.

OLD PHOTOGRAHS AND PLACES

The smile of the sun is getting fierce and painful. The wind blows luke-warmly uncomfortable, and you start sweating like a hell. It's already summer, the class is over- meaning it's time to rejoice, worry-free from exhausting class, stressful students, and a bit of tedious dullness of the subject as well. This is my first summer vacation away from home...Everything is first and I'm a sort of novice-migrant to a country that I never dreamt of. Back in the Philippines, summer vacation is considered a holiday of sort by the Filipinos. When the sun starts to strike its scorching heat, hitting out to the beach or splashing out to some famous and known swimming pools around the country were the most fave destination of every Filipinos. That's exactly the simple fun Filipinos did every summer vacation. It is also a gathering of every family, friends- where everyone plans for the retreat, visiting places outside the busyness of the city. Among the provinces in the Philippines that I love to spend my summer is the island of Siquijor It's the home province of my mother, a province where I first saw the beauty and the ugliness side of the world. I did spend my early childhood there too, so as staying there for some time when life in the city was getting congestive and crammed. The best place for exhaling pure and clean air. I’ve always dreamt of a life in the beautiful countryside of this island, a house of my own, with a wide meadow, sipping wine on my terrace enjoying a view of the rolling fields. Living there is more of the notion of leaving behind life’s baggage, moving on, and finding what you really want in life that speaks my mind. I remember my father used to bring me to the farm and accompanied him tending the cows..our piece of the farm there relates to the beauty of Life... it's close to nature, where valleys and plains added beauty to the simplicity of the area. An overview of a not so far-off sea, blending with the whistles of the wind and chirping of the larks. I remember my first time to see our farm – it was magically surreal. Fields of corns, peanuts, beautiful greeneries, and the tranquility of the countryside. Sunset over the fields reminds me of how Life feels when you find Love – rosy, warm, and blissful. It made me feel like I was in my dream, a dream that I’ll never wake up to. I have never been home on the island for so long of years now that old photographs and places I always remember..every now and then. My parents decided to settle there because of the peaceful and simplicity of the island that it offers...which life is where it’s at for some quality rest and relaxation. Now here I am in Thailand.. and through all of this, I haven't regretted once the decision to pack up life move abroad. I miss my parents and family, but I have no regrets what so ever in making this life-changing decision. Leaving me many avenues here to explore and who knows when or if I will be ready to return to the place of my birth.
Yesterday I felt the wind blowing 'round my shoulder Feel like I'm getting older Still I can't forget your face Separated by a million miles of ocean My heart still feels emotion Even in this lonely place Old photographs and places I remember Just like a dying ember That's burned into my soul Even though we walk the diamond-studded highways It's the country lanes and byways That makes us long for home Lately I just find my mind has turned to dreamin' Making plans and scheming How I'm gonna get back home But deep down inside I know its really hopeless This road I'm on is endless We climb our mountains all alone
