A Morning Walk & Photography

I woke up early this morning, though it was chilling outside but the idea of stretching in the morning to sweat's a good idea. Bung Ta Lua Park is the biggest park in Korat. Eventually, they called it water park. it is the haven of the health buff and healthy enthusiast.
I need two rides to get there and the place was so really good. While I did the walking, I also took the opportunity of taking photos using my iPhone.
Alas, the results are pretty good.

Phimai Historical Temple

Phimai historical park is the primary tourist destination in Korat or Nakhon Ratchasima. It's only an hour away from the place where I stayed in the center of Korat.
It was New Year break when I luckily got the chance to visit this ancient temple, Allegedly, I'd been asking my students the exact direction to get there, which it was not potentially clear. The plan of visiting Phimai temple was been set last year, but my busyness in school hindered me to push the plan.
But finally, I did visit Phimai historical park and it wasn't that hard to get there. Getting a bus for Phimai is just pretty easy. When I got there and saw the temple itself, it didn't give me much of a grandeur reaction, but, a little bit of discouragement knowing that it's not massive and huge. Apart from that, it is the smaller replica of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. Nevertheless, I was already there so I did my rounds and took pictures. I didn't see much of foreign tourists but the locals. Since I saw Angkor Wat a hundred times and stayed in Siem Reap for a year and 8 months, I won't definitely recommend it to anyone who has been to Angkor Wat.
Nonetheless, I posted some pictures that I took and here's the excerpt from an online article that I qouted:

Geographically, this sanctuary is located on a plain a high plain surrounded by three large canals. No one knows who actually built Phimai, or why it was built at the particular site it occupies. However, one source declares,"It was built in the 12th century and some years before Angkor Wat."Monsieur H. Parmentier, the Angkorean expert, after a detail study at Phimai came to the conclusion that the temple was built in the reign of King Suriyavoraman (A.D. 1002-1049).He held that its architectural style closely resembled Angkorean buildings.

Prasat Him Phimai which is the largest sandstone sanctuary in Thailand. It almost situated in the center of ancient Phimai city. Its rectangular shape is 655 meters wide and 1,033 meters long.Nowadays, the Sanctuary looks magnificently restored and renovated. This fascinating ancient Khmer architecture has been preserved as the National Historical Park. The monument itself is surrounded with two red sandstone walls. The external wall and the gallery are punctuated by gate towers (Gopura) at four cardinal points, North, South, East and West.
